Kunstmuseum Bern INFINITE

On 23 May 2023, the Kunstmuseum Bern is presenting a Switzerland-wide premiere: as Kunstmuseum Bern INFINITE it is opening itself up to virtual space, and launching a unique fundraising project.

The project is a virtual extension of the museum, offering new fundraising opportunities and combining both analogue and digital art. In the virtual spaces, digital tributes to works from our collection, created especially for this purpose, are shown and offered for sale. The first homage is dedicated to the Emmental-born painter and art theorist Johannes Itten. The US artist and poet Sasha Stiles has digitally appropriated his work “Horizontal-Vertical” (1915) and expanded it into a 12-part generative poem entitled “A EYE, After Johannes Itten”.
