The exhibition showcases pieces that were purchased in the period between 1987 and 1997 by the-then director of the Kunsthalle Bern, Ulrich Loock, for the Migros Bern.
The exhibition showcases pieces that were purchased in the period between 1987 and 1997 by the-then director of the Kunsthalle Bern, Ulrich Loock, for the Migros Bern. This collection was donated to the Kunstmuseum Bern in 2005. This exhibition is the first representative overview of the collection that has been conceived for it alone. No use-by date vividly illustrates the undiminished relevance of the approaches represented therein by mounting these works face to face with recent works in the Migros Aare art collection. Migros Aare again intensified its collecting activities with a new acquisition commission in 2016. The dual focus of the exhibition affords interesting juxtapositions and inspiring comparisons that span a period of some thirty years.
