«Berns mächtige Zeit» Berner Kunst im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert
Anlässlich der Publikation des dritten Bandes "Berns mächtige Zeit. Das 16. und 17. Jahrhundert neu entdeckt" in der Reihe "Berner Zeiten" zeigt das Kunstmuseum Bern eine kleine Ausstellung, um jene Zeit visuell zu vergegenwärtigen.
On April 20, 2006, the third volume in the series Berner Zeiten will be published: Berns mächtige Zeit. Das 16. und 17. Jahrhundert neu entdeckt. The presentation of this sumptuous book is to be accompanied by a small exhibition of selected pictorial contributions in the Museum of Fine Arts Bern so that one can also become visually conscious of this period. With works by Josef Werner, Wilhelm Stettler, Johannes Dünz and Albrecht Kauw among others – from the collection as well as loans from the Bernese Historical Museum, the state archives and the citizens’ library – it can be seen how artists fulfilled the wishes of their Bernese customers with portraits, allegories, vedutes and still lifes
